Moyes said he has been injured the last couple of days, which is totally plauseable, then why is he on the bench?

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Multiple media outlets reckon hes off to Chelsea.................FMOB! Surely this is a wind up?

Maybe thats why he is on the bench, last thing we want is him getting an injury, if its "Them" then we better get a decent wedge.....

That's fair enough and, although I don't agree, I respect your opinion.

Russ of the BML 4:48 Pretty much spot on. Not made the most of his natural talent and bar his aerial ability looks almost non-league

On his day AC can be unplayable. Unfortunately those days are very few, and far between. Injuries apart, and how that effects form etc, he has the attributes to be a very good striker indeed, but lacks any consistency and intelligence on the field.

I wasn't talking about the injuries. I agree that his career record with us hasn't been good enough, he's never played a full season for us. I just don't agree that he's lacking in ability.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
he is a "match winner" a massive threat to any back 4 who are always unsettled when he is about ,his presence creates space for others to exploit ,the likes of West Brom and Stoke have nothing like him,our problem is not him but the way others go one dimentional when he is on the field ,we may not be the best side in the league but thank god we are blessed with a good array of different types of strikers .

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Has there ever been any evidence of Carroll coming on as a sub and making a difference? I ask as I read a lot on here that he would be a good impact sub but don't see any evidence of this ever being the case?? From my chair his best games for us have always been when he starts?

You were quite happy with Carlton averaging less than that, sold0?

Yeah but no one called Carlton UNPLAYABLE and the nugget was on about a third of his wages and Carlton is a Leg-end so let's just leave it there...

69 GOALS

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
If he was guaranteed to be a bench player I would 100% keep him. Brilliant to have him coming on if nothings working. No defender would want to see him coming on fresh in say 60+ minutes as they know they would have their work cut out.

If however it carries on as it has been with him starting games it just holds us back. We completely change the way we play to accomodate him from the start which has a negative effect as we are far too slow, predictable and we continuously look for that long ball.

He is still very good when he is on his game and I have no complaints if he gets two goals a game like last night on a consistent basis, but we all should know by now that he will not stay fit for a whole season. He just won't, we have been there time and time again and it shouldn't surprise anyone anymore.

Likewise nobody can say oh that's it now no more injuries because you just know as before it always comes back.

If a serious offer came in and we could shift him (barring he passes a medical of course) I would seriously consider it - unless like I said he was purely a bench player in which case I'd 100% keep him.

5 and a half seasons to see it, mate. What is it that Carroll does that some of us on here don't see.

If he'd been with us half a season I'd be inclined to agree with you and give him benefit of doubt.

But 5 and a half seasons. I would say that, from my own knowledge and experience of what makes a top level player, that this is way long enough for me to see everything I need to know.

Or, as I said in previous post, does the curse continue and we give him more time to prove what he can do based on one game? And then in that time he gets injured.

Carroll has been on a carousel of woe interrupted by short periods of decent play and some highs. It's just boring now.

People who are saying he did fuck all apart from score two goals last night are correct. Often these people are shouted down if, and that's a big "IF", the player does this week after week. If he scored one or two each game and did fuck all I'd be delighted.

Carroll's problem is that he is now injury free and has been, for the most part, shit. He will always get you the odd goal here and there due to his presence and aerial ability. But his overall game is so lacking now it's embarrassing.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
I doubt anyone would buy him really. Would he pass a medical? I'm sure no one would pay 15m. Probably wages alone and get him off our payroll at 100 bags a week.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
One of the laziest players on the pitch last night.

Couldn't even be bothered to walk back into play from an offside position at times when we were on a secondary attack.

Arnie was the far better player.

Carroll does this every now and then but he'll be quiet and just as shit as the 89 minutes where he didn't score last night for the next few games before he's injured again.

Complete waste of money and we should get rid asap in order to bring someone in of much better value.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Complete OTT media hype about AC after his first goal
in 9 months, claims even he should be in World Cup squad!!
He was garbage until the goal and has been garbage all season. If we have players who csn put the ball on his head twice a game like Payet used to he is worth keeping, we don’t & we won’t have that player. Next key point, he is always one jump away from a lengthy injury. We allknow he won’t be fit for the rest of the season.
